The reconstruction of Resort Street continues as warm weather marks the beginning of more community activities.
The project is on schedule, but traffic issues in and around the project area, between Auburn Avenue and Campbell Street, have become more of a concern.
“We’ve been trying to get the word out that businesses are remaining open on Resort Street during the street project,” said Michelle Owen, the city’s public works director.
However, some drivers are having trouble understanding which blocks are open.

Five members of the Patriots, a local 4-H shooting sports team, have qualified for the state competition scheduled for Wednesday through Friday in Albany.
This is the second year the Patriots have fielded a team.
The event includes both archery and shotgun events. This is the first year the Patriots have competed in shotgun.
Four members of the Baker County team qualified in both events:
• Hannah Myers, 15. She was the reserve champion in archery at the state competition last year.
• Nicholas Barnes, 13
• Sam Black, 13
• Michaela Tholen, 14
Orrin Black, 15, will compete in the archery event.
The team leader is Toni Myers. Assistants are Donnie Tholen and Jack Myers.
