Eltrym's local again
Eltrym's local again
|
We're pleased that the Eltrym Theatre once again has local owners. Terry and Dan McQuisten and Ron and Cindy Luelling recently bought the Eltrym from Rudyard Coltman, who had owned the theater for 11 years. Coltman accomplished much during his tenure as owner in particular adding two screens to the Eltrym's original one, and bringing first-run movies to Baker City. Coltman moved to the Portland area several years ago, however. With the McQuistens and Luellings as owners, any profits should remain in the local economy. The couples also intend to address one of the pressing needs that Coltman, with exceptions, didn't get around to: making the Eltrym more accessible to people in wheelchairs. A year ago the Eltrym was closed due to Coltman's feud with city officials over fire sprinklers and other matters. Today the future of Baker County's only theater seems as bright as the neon lights on its marquee. |
