Singing state’s praises
Singing state’s praises
|
Critics have pounced, predictably, on the Oregon Legislature for considering a bill that would change the state song. But we don’t mind. We haven’t seen any evidence that the bill to replace “Oregon, My Oregon” with “No Place Under the Sun Like Oregon” is diverting lawmakers from more vital matters. Not that we’d care. After all, the more time legislators devote to musical matters, the less time they have to increase taxes. If lawmakers get around to naming a state fairy tale, we suggest they check out “Little Red Riding Hood.” It’s old, but in Keating Valley, at least, it’s still relevant. |
