Billy's glad to be out of tree
To the editor:
I'd like to say thank you to contractor Rick Bissonette for his help in retrieving my kitten from a tree.
Rick went out of his way to bring "Billy" down from his two-day vigil in an old elm, and although Billy didn't seem as grateful as he should have been, I'd like to reassure Rick, I am.
I was referred to Rick, known for his kind heart and sensitivity for animals, by Susan, of Best Friends, a group of volunteers who serve a very important purpose here in Baker. The service they give to our community should be appreciated by all citizens, especially those who complain most about our homeless animal problem.
Truly, if everyone offered to help, even in a small way, then "the few" would not have to do all the work, and everyone, human and animal, would benefit. Please remember that our homeless and abandoned animals suffer greatly, all year long, but especially as the colder weather settles in.
Thanks again, Rick and Susan.
