I broke the rule, I'll pay the fine

To the editor:

I happen to be one of "those 25" who were ticketed by Officer Shannon Regan. My wife and I had a booth in the park during Miners Jubilee, which was set up July 17 and manned on the 18th, 19th and 20th.

At one point on Saturday, July 19, I partially blocked an unused alley with my pickup. I am 83 years old and did not want to walk the five blocks necessary to get back to the park.

Guess what? I am not going to grouse about it. An ordinance is an ordinance. As they say in the military, "no excuse, sir!"

We have a great police force and city government — I am paying my $48 fine.
