Letters to the Editor for Aug. 17, 2011
Silence is golden to sleepers
To the editor:
I agree with the writer of a recent letter to the editor concerning loud, disruptive horns from trains passing through Baker City. With the modern warning technology at the gated crossings, train horns should no longer need to be used. Perhaps it’s time for Baker residents to notify the train companies to please stop their engineers from activating their horns when they enter the city limits and until after they leave.
Silence is golden when one is trying to sleep.
