Let’s not give up on KTVB To the editor: I would like to give you my take on Charter Cable and ask for your help. I think the Charter Cable company is poorly managed and furnishes us with sub-par television reception, and frankly I don’t think they care. I only stuck with them because of KTVB Channel 7 from Boise, and now that that is gone I will be gone as well. I have done quite a bit of research into DirecTV and Dish Network, talking to everyone from both companies from sales to marketing people, and came to the conclusion that we need to make some contacts with our congresspeople. I was told that the satellite companies are regulated by the FCC for what ZIP code areas they can cover. I think we need to make some noise about how important Channel 7 is to us, as in major medical, large city shopping, road conditions and anything else we can share. This may or may not help. But it certainly can’t hurt. Mel Cross Baker City Civil compromise law works well To the editor: I read with interest your Nov. 26 editorial “Law needs fixing.” Suffice it to say that this article contains several factual and legal inaccuracies. Also, in my experience, Oregon’s civil compromise statute is one of the best laws helping victims on the books. I don’t think the “law needs fixing.” Bob Moon Baker City |
