How about the ‘facts’ in the Bible? To the editor: The purpose of this letter is to explore the credibility of the Bible as a source of fact with reference to sexual identity as well as other controversial Bible spinoffs. Sexual identity is a biological determination. We are either heterosexual, homosexual and/or bisexual. Fact or fiction? One has options to choose sexual identity. Fact or fiction? The Bible is a reliable source for facts. Fact or fiction? Examples of biblical credibility. The Earth was created on Oct. 22, 2004 B.C., according to a priest. Fact or fiction? The geological age of the earth is 4.5 billion years. Fact or fiction? The biblical age of the earth is 6,000 years. Fact or fiction? A recent discovery of a 47-million-year old fossil of a once-living organism. Fact or fiction? There was no oxygen in the earth’s atmosphere for millions of years until plant life produced enough oxygen to support human habitat. Fact or fiction? Biblical spawns have created horrible behaviors such as the most outrageous immoral tithing Ponzi scams ever and polygamy (what kind of sexual identity is that?) and celibacy, how unnatural? Fact or fiction? So what do you think? Is there a credibility problem? Fact or fiction? Jay Boman Baker City |
