Thanks for a great letter, Mark To the editor: Congratulations to Mr. Mark J. Steele for sharing a great letter on his personal values, learned as a child practiced as an adult. Right on, Mark! We shared the sentiments expressed in your letter, wholeheartedly, and say thank you for putting the thoughts into very appropriate words! Hold the thoughts, and continue the family teachings! Theft is not same as charity To the editor: Bill Press, liberal columnist, is wrong as usual. The German socialist workers party, or the Nazi party, was not an organization of the right but of the left. Charity is not the taking of somebody else’s property and distributing it to others in order to gain their vote. That is the Marxist definition of social and economic justice. Some of the super-rich liberals in Congress don’t even pay the taxes that they impose on us hard-working Americans. Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, opposes the stance of the church she claims to belong to on abortion. True hypocrisy. Obama says he’s a Christian but proclaimed to the Muslim nations that the USA is not a Christian nation. Bill Clinton carried a huge Bible during campaign time while at the time freely committing adultery. The Democrat liberals constantly fight to obliterate the word “God” from our society, even fighting against nativity scenes at Christmas time. They constantly oppose any public display of the Ten Commandments. A book referring to them as the “godless” has been written. I highly recommend it. Ask any true Christian if they think these people are Christians and they will just laugh. Jesus said, “My sheep know my voice and another they will not follow.” I believe that Glenn Beck is a patriot and a Christian. He may be the one who saves this country from communism. No man can overcome the obstacle he has without God. Just ask AA. Twisting the words of the Bible to make him look otherwise is evil. Jesus said go, sell all you have and give it to the poor. He never said, go, take your neighbor’s stuff and give it to whom you will for personal gain. That is out and out theft. Not charity. Bill Press’ definition of charity is defined as socialism or Marxism. Totally opposite of Christian charity. Thou shall not covet they neighbor’s goods is the teaching of Christ. Taking from one is theft. Voting for one who will take for you is coveting. Not social justice. The end for the USA is disastrous. Elizabeth Huddleston Baker City |
