So what do those scanners show?

With all the hoopla about the scanners in airports I hope this letter will get a response from some radiologists out there. If the scanners are truly X-ray machines, X-rays do not show soft tissue, only hard tissue, like bone, or a piece of metal strapped to someone’s leg, etc. Nobody is seeing nipples or pubic hair on those scanners unless they’re something more than X-ray machines.

Can someone who knows more about this straighten all this out please?
