Unpopular decision no reason for recall To the editor: A recall is a sharp instrument that should be used only against people who abuse their offices. Making unpopular decisions in good faith doesn’t meet the standard. Brighter voters will vote No. Jack R. Turner Baker City
To the editor: Having read Mr. Pope’s narration on Mr. Brocato’s virtues and looking at the names on his list of supporters, it is quite evident that his support is from those who benefitted financially from Mr. Brocato’s reign. And after reading the Summary of Recall Committee, (paragraph one) “Much of the support will come from councilors, mayors, and people who were offended by Brocato.” I also see that they agree that the support for Calder and Dorrah come from former councilors, mayors, and leading citizens who know a city manager has to answer to the Council not control it.
