Recall targets wrong councilors To the editor: Like I said before, people of Baker County and especially Baker City should take a better look at how their tax dollars are being spent. This recall election coming up is a good example. Milo Pope can’t get over the fact that he is no longer judge and we don’t have to do what he says. Maybe at one time, but not any more. Then there is councilor Andrew Bryan, who seems to be an authority on everything except explaining how he came up with the good paying job that he got without it ever being advertised. I’m sure there must be other people in the county who are just as qualified. Then there is councilor Sam Bass, who doesn’t have much to say about anything, but he has a daughter who is a city police officer. This comes pretty close to being a conflict of interest. As for all the department heads being so crazy about Brocato, he had never worked for a fire department, police department, street department or around a city hall, so he had no idea how these departments work, so he just let the department heads do whatever they thought. So no wonder they thought he was wonderful. I say we are trying to recall the wrong councilors. Ed Walter Baker City |
