Obama can deal with economy To the editor: In his recent letter to the editor, Robert L. Heriza admonishes voters, “Refuse the Kool-Aid,” a desperate dirty-politics attempt to tinge Senator Barack Obama’s steamrolling campaign for president with the suicide poisonings of Jim Jones’ brainwashed followers in Guyana in 1978. Here’s the Kool-Aid image the voters should take to the polls: For too many years, the Republican Party has been feeding America doses of trickle-down Kool-Aid economics that have poisoned the American economic system with emphasis on laissez faire deregulation. President Bush and Senator McCain are long-time supporters of deregulation of big business and the stock market. I say don’t accept any of Senator McCain’s newly brewed “I favor government oversight and regulation” Kool-Aid. Polls show that American voters agree overwhelmingly that Senator Obama is the person they trust to deal with this nation’s economic crisis. Gary Dielman Baker City
To the editor: Glad to see that there’s so many that see through Obama and the Democrat Party’s view on what’s right for the American people. I have to say again, a vote for Obama is a vote for his far left and socialistic views. Not my opinion — check his record. Yes he’s said he supports the Second Amendment. He lies — his voting record proves it. Ask yourself, why does Obama and the far left in Washington need to disarm the American people? I have a theory that would scare you. Have we forgotten? It became very apparent during the Clinton era. Now we hear Obama is mixed up with ACORN, a shady lending company which may be part of the “bailout” problem. What next? Obama wants abortion to be legal at any level. All women have the right to their own body, but the baby is not part of your body, he/she is a separate human with equal rights. This is why even in God’s eye according to His Commandments abortion is murder. All who deal in abortion including Sen. Obama without repenting will be judged by God for this act. Again, not my opinion. One last thing, the bailout, who’s really at fault? Could the fault be us, the people, for not paying attention to what our representatives in Washington are doing. Being too lazy to see if they are working for us or getting fat off of us, then sending them back to office to do it again. Think about it. Check out www.GunBanObama.com and www.nraila.org. Also the trail behind this man is much too dangerous for him to be elected to the highest office in the land. Yes, my opinion. Richard Fox Baker City |
