Much to miss in the Clinton years

To the editor:

In a letter to the editor, Frances Mohr asks the question, "Am I missing something?" in regards to Presidents Clinton and Bush. For starters, he seems to have missed the entire eight years when William Clinton was in office. Promising to be the most ethical administration, the administration was continually embroiled in one scandal after another.

Let's list just a few — there was Hillary Clinton's extremely profitable investment in cattle futures, Travelgate, the missing documents that suddenly, magically appeared, one "bimbo eruption" after another, and the finale: last-minute presidential pardons for hire.

A person may have misgivings about how the war in Iraq has been conducted, but at least terrorists are no longer flying airplanes into large buildings, killing thousands of innocent civilians. Instead, they are fighting our troops in Iraq and are being slaughtered by the thousands, something else our letter writer seems to have missed. Our soldiers are trained to fight terrorists, and have a much better chance of survival than the poor souls who went to work in the World Trade Towers on September 11, 2001.
