Watch out for those ruts in the ice

To the editor:

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, and that means six more weeks of winter. And more winter means more snow.

The snow has cleared on most of the main roads and there is dry ground between the icy ruts on the side streets.

Don't be fooled by the dry ground, because the ruts will throw you. You can find yourself in the oncoming lane like a tornado picked your car up and dropped you back down again without you even knowing what hit you. Then, fighting off the icy ruts in the oncoming lane, you could even end up in a ditch. Or worse, there could be another car there.

So please slow down around the ice ruts and be safe this winter. God bless you all.

Tammy Marie
