Obituary for Oct. 10, 2012

Richard Aldrich

Baker City, 1958-2012

Richard Ray Aldrich, 54, a former Baker City resident, died Oct. 3, 2012, near White Salmon, Wash. 

His funeral will be at 6 p.m. on today at the First Baptist Church in Hood River. His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rock Creek Cemetery near Haines. 


He was born Jan. 11, 1958, at Baker City to Lynn Chadwick and Robert Ray Aldrich. After high school, Richard served in the U.S. Navy for three years.

He married Tonya Murchland on Aug. 31, 1994, at Winnemucca, Nev. Mr. Aldrich worked as a dredger man and superintendant. 

He loved to hunt, fish and coach his kids sports teams. 

Survivors include his wife, Tonya Aldrich; children, Casey Aldrich, M’Randa Aldrich, Ryan Aldrich and McKenna Aldrich; grandmother, Leorra Chadwick; brothers, Nathen Aldrich, Robert Aldrich Jr. and Thomas Kinsella; sisters, Teri Aldrich and Kathy Morrison; nieces and nephews, Mariah Aldrich, Jeremy Henry and Kelsey Morrison.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Aldrich; his grandfather, George Chadwick; and his father, Robert Aldrich. 

Gardner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
