Police arrest Utah pair, find pound of pot in car

Two Ogden, Utah, men were arrested Wednesday morning on Interstate 84 in Baker City after an Oregon State Police trooper stopped their vehicle for going 98 mph and during a subsequent search of the car found about one pound of marijuana.

The marijuana was stored in two bags concealed in the rear of the 2006 Kia Sedona minivan that Zachary Orton, 19, and Anthony Conley, 26, were in.

Orton, the driver, was stopped for speeding in the eastbound lanes of the freeway near Milepost 304, the Campbell Street interchange, at 6:56 a.m. Wednesday, according to State Police.

Officials from the Baker County Sheriff's Office assisted in the traffic stop.

Orton and Conley were taken to the Baker County Jail on charges of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance. Orton was cited for speeding and for failing to have a driver's license.
