Vanessa Helizet Martin and James Thomas Spriet are engaged to be married July 25, 2009, at Phillips Park.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Arturo and Veronica Figueroa of Palmdale, Calif. She is a 2006 graduate of Highland High School.
The future groom is the son of Harley and Myka Spriet of Baker City. He is a 2004 Baker High School graduate. 
The couple met while serving in the U.S. Air Force. They are currently stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Neb.
Jason Spriet will officiate. There will be a reception afterward at the Elks Lodge.
