Engagement: Shute-Rasmussen

Stephani Shute and Ron Rasmussen, both of Baker City, have announced their engagement and forthcoming wedding.

The couple will be married at 2 p.m. Sept. 1, 2007, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. They will be honored with a reception afterward at 4 p.m. at the Baker Elks Lodge.

The couple plan a honeymoon trip to Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

The bride-to-be is a graduate student at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande. She is a 2006 graduate of Oregon State University at Corvallis where she received a bachelor of arts degree in history. Her parents are Steve and Karla Shute of Stevenson, Wash.

Rasmussen is the son of Frank and Joan Rasmussen of Baker City. He is a 1994 Baker High School graduate and a 1999 graduate of OSU where he earned a bachelor of science degree in microbiology and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology. He is employed as a drafter by Anderson Perry & Associates.
