THEFT I: At 2970 Grandview Drive between Sept. 10 and Oct. 15; taken: a 50- to 60-piece silver set valued at $7,000 belonging to Larry and Peggy Pearson of that address.

BURGLARY II: At 2018 Eighth St., 11:36 a.m. Saturday; police said an attached shed and house belonging to Roy and Jennifer Slater were entered and a washer and dryer valued at $100 were taken.

BURGLARY I and BURGLARY II, THEFT I, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF and CRIMINAL TRESPASSING: Coty Hanson, 18, of 1036 Tamar St., 1:01 p.m. Thursday, at his home; jailed; Sheriff Mitch  Southwick said Hanson is charged with a December burglary at a cabin near Sumpter owned by Mike and Sheila Merrill. A rifle, alcohol, money and other items were taken, some of which have been recovered, Southwick said. Crystol Sypherd, 18, also is being held at the Baker County Jail in connection with the crimes, Southwick said. A third arrest is pending and the investigation is continuing, he added.

POSSESSION OF LESS THAN AN OUNCE OF MARIJUANA: Erik Miller, 31, 10:45 a.m. Dec. 29, on Iron Mountain Road near Durkee; cited and released.

POSSESSION OF LESS THAN AN OUNCE OF MARIJUANA: David Forshee, 30, of Kansas City, Missouri, 6:58 p.m. Saturday, on Interstate 84 near Baker City; cited and released.

Accident report

On Highway 7 near Mason Dam at 4:44 p.m. Thursday, Ricky Lee Bissonnett, 55, of Baker City, lost control of his Ford F25 pickup truck on an icy curve. Police said the vehicle slid off the right shoulder and into the ditch, causing it to roll. Bissonnett, the only occupant, was able to pull himself out of the vehicle. He later was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City with minor injuries, police said. 

On Interstate 84 in the eastbound lanes near Durkee Monday at 7:27 a.m., a truck and semitrailer rolled into the median; The driver Charles Davis DeMarcus, 46, of Detroit, Michigan, was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City. He later was transferred to another hospital, according to Laura Huggins, hospital spokeswoman. No other details were available. Police said icy road conditions contributed to the crash.
