Obituaries for April 1, 2011

George was born on June 9, 1944, at San Francisco. He retired from the city of Hillsboro where he worked as the sanitary sewer supervisor. Rodeos were his sporting interest and he drove many miles to follow them.

Survivors include his family: Susan Glass, daughter, Alyce Glass Lowenstein, of San Mateo, Calif., son, Shepherd W. Glass of Jamestown, Calif., and grandson, Cody Lowenstein of San Mateo, Calif.

Coles Tribute Center was in charge of arrangements.

James Robert “Jim” Anderson, 92, died March 30, 2011, at Settler’s Park in Baker City.

His graveside service will be later at the Haines Cemetery.

Jim was born at Ogden, Utah, on April 28, 1918. His family eventually moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. He drove Greyhound bus and was a long-haul trucker for 38 years. He was married to Evelyn Ruth Meyer-Anderson for 64 years before her death in 2004.  

Jim had been a resident at Settler’s Park for the last five years.

Survivors include his two daughters, Carolyn Lee Flynn and Lynda Dee Rider; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
