Obituaries for April 25, 2011

Jimmy Ray Turman, 59, died April 19, 2011, in Huntington. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Jim was born April 27, 1951, in Silver City, N. M., to John and Lillie (Thompson) Turman. He went to Lakeview High School and served in the Navy for six years. He then was a self-employed logger for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He married Frances Gerlits in June 30, 1972, and they had one son. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock hounding, and making jewelry.

Jim is survived by his wife Frances of Huntington; son Jesse Turman of Beaver, Ore.; granddaughter Addison of Klamath Falls; brothers Joe Ramsay of Cliff, Ariz., Junior Turman of Austin, Tex., Bill Turman of Silver City, N.M., Ron Turman of Lakeside, Ore.; sisters Mary Evans of Silver City, N.M., and Hazel Evans of Lakeview; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim is preceded in death by his brothers Marty Turman and George Ramsay.
