 Marvin Burgraff

Marvin Bert Burgraff, 70, of Halfway, died July 30, 2009, at Boise.

His funeral was at 10 a.m. today at Pine Valley Presbyterian Church in Halfway. Interment was at Pine Haven Cemetery. Pastor Bill Shields officiated. Friends are invited to join the family afterward at the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall for a reception.

Marvin was born on Nov. 22, 1938, at Bellingham, Wash., to Marion and Elsie Lavern Tobiaseen Burgraff. He attended Meridian High School, graduating in 1957. Marvin worked for Idaho Power Co., retiring in 1997.

He married ReaLynn Ashby at Winnemucca, Nev., on June 6, 1969. The couple had just recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Marvin was very active in his community. He was the mayor of Halfway for four years, a volunteer for the Halfway-Oxbow Ambulance and the Pine Valley Fire Department Board and a member of the Baker County Planning Commission.

Survivors include his wife, ReaLynn Burgraff of Halfway; mother, Elsie Burgraff of Bellingham, Wash.; two sisters of Bellingham, Wash.; loving children; and numerous grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Marion Burgraff.

Memorial contribution may be made to the Pine Eagle Clinic, Halfway-Oxbow Ambulance, or the Pine Valley Rural Fire District Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, OR 97814.
