Obituaries for Dec. 16, 2011

Thomas Gee
Thomas R. Gee, 67, a former Baker City resident, died Dec. 8, 2011, at his sister’s home in Scappoose after two courageous battles with cancer.
Private interment was Dec. 16 at Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life for all who wish to attend on Memorial Weekend  in May 2012.  The date and time will be announced later.
He was born at Baker City and resided most of his life at Boise. He was a 1962 Baker High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy for four years, stationed in Japan and California.
Upon returning to the states, he received his degree from Links School of Business at Boise. His career in accounting led to his working at Continental Life Insurance, Kinetico Water System and retiring from Culligan Water System at Boise.
Tom was a very generous, good man, family members said. He enjoyed taking drives and interacting with his the friends who lived near him and the staff at Culligan. His other great joys were attending class reunions, not only his own, but others because he knew so many people. He faithfully came to Baker City for Memorial Day Weekend to decorate the graves with family.
Survivors include his siblings, Dick Gee and his wife Janyce, Julie (Gee) Jackstadt and her husband, Brad and Bill Gee and his wife, Terry; and five nieces and nephews.
