Mavis Balfour Mavis Balfour, 86, of Pendleton, a former Baker City resident, died Feb. 8, 2010, at Ashley Manor in Pendleton. She was born on June 2, 1924, at Sedalia, Mo., to Carl and Helen Lewis Eckland. She grew up at Union and Baker City, but most of her life was spent in La Grande. She moved to Pendleton in 2009. Survivors include her son, Don Robinson of Pendleton; daughter, Carla Young of Pendleton; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her longtime partner, Jerry Foster. Condolences may be sent online to www.pioneerchapel.com.
