Obituaries for July 16, 2010

Joyce Arnold

Joyce Beth Arnold, 79, a former resident of Huntington and Weiser, Idaho, died July 8, 2010, at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho.

Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario. No service is planned.

Joyce was born on May 9, 1931, at Mobeetie, Texas, to Merida L. Williams and Clara Dean McClusky.

Her mother died when she was 3 years old. Joyce moved from Texas to Vale in the mid 1903s with her father and brother on a 380-acre land grant. The family then moved to Huntington at the time of Joyce’s senior year. She graduated from Huntington High School in 1949.

Joyce spent most of her adult life living in Weiser. She was a gifted gardener, seamstress and craftswoman who enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, cross stitch and knitting. She won several awards for her handworks.

Joyce is survived by her son, Grant Morton, and his family; two stepdaughters, Shirley and Mary Lou and their families; the family of her late husband, Donald Arnold; and very good friend Coleen Eveson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Aubrey Gene, Charles Earl, and Donald Ray, and a nephew, Dale Irving.
