Obituaries for June 14, 2013

Bradly Adams

Baker City, 1954-2013

Bradly Wade Adams, 58, of Baker City, died June 6, 2013, at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City. 

At his request,there will be no public service.

Bradly was born on Aug. 8, 1954, at Ford Ord, Calif., to Newel and Julia Daugherty Adams. For many years he was self-employed, operating a construction company that did metal working on large commercial buildings. 

He married Sandra “Sandy” Hutchison on May 7, 2011, at Reno, Nev. He loved being outdoors fishing, camping and hiking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robbie; and a nephew. 

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of Baker City; daughters, Romona, Perry Rose and Ashley; a son, Jessie; stepson, Benjamin; stepdaughter, Jennifer; brothers, Jerry, Richard, Johnny, Doug and Donald; and 10 grandchildren.

Gray’s West & Co. Pioneer Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Richard Herz

Baker City, 1930-2013

Richard Herz, 82, of Baker City died peacefully at home on June 7, 2013.

Richard requested that there be no services, but that his ashes be buried at sea.

Richard was born on June 15, 1930, at New York. As a young man he served in the Marine Corps.  After serving in the Corps, he owned his own business and worked as a tree surgeon in New York and Maine. He lived in Anchor Point, Alaska, for about 20 years before recently moving to Baker City. Richard enjoyed the weather in Baker City, going to the senior center for lunch and attending the Elkhorn Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by two sons: Gregory Herz of Winterport, Maine, and Clifford Herz of Bridgeport, Maine; three daughters: Robin Herz of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Tracy Herz of Daytona Beach Fla., and Dayna Herz of Bangor, Maine; a sister, Caroline Herz of North Carolina; and very close friends and extended family Belva Olson, Belva’s son, Jody Herd, and Belva’s niece, Angel Herd.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Elizabeth Herz.
