Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Westside Church in Bend.

Janet was born and raised in Southern California. In 1977, she married John Brand. That same year, the couple moved to Bend where Janet practiced as a childbirth educator.

In 2005, they moved to Baker City. Janet enjoyed painting, traveling and feeding her “pet” deer and quail.

Survivors include her husband, John Brand of Baker City; four children, Michael Brand and Eric Brand, both of Bend, Gina Samuel of Redmond and Kimberly Brand of Boise; her father, George Toombs of Bend; and two grandchildren.
