‘Kenny’ Lee Howard Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Howard, 71, of Cool, Calif., a former Baker City resident, died April 18, 2010, at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. His memorial service was May 1 at the Cool Community Church. Kenny grew up in Eastern Oregon. He was a drywall finisher for more than 30 years after leaving the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Painters and Tapers Local 487, until his illness caused him to retire in 1994. Kenny loved camping, fishing and hunting. He also loved to have fun and to make people laugh. “He will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” his family members said. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Diana Howard of Cool, Calif.; son, James J. Howard of Greenwood, Calif.; daughters, Bridgett J. Howard of Citrus Heights, Calif., Tammie K. Lewallyn of Sacramento, Calif., and Wendy D. Nickle of Citrus Heights; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Mary, Buzz and Bub; a niece, Debbie DeMastus of Baker City; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth L. Howard Jr.; brother, Robert K. Howard; and his parents, Elbert “Stub” Howard and Ruth Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Prostate Cancer Foundation. |
