Raymond Price Raymond Franklin Price, 57, of La Grande, a former longtime Baker County resident, died April 30, 2011, at his home. There will be a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2625 Hughes Lane. Raymond was born on Oct. 26, 1953, at Santa Cruz, Calif., to John and Erma Jacobs Price. He moved to Baker in 1969. While living in Baker City, he spent 22 years working for Safeway and received the first Mayor’s Hospitality award as head checker. When not working he enjoyed coaching and umpiring Little League baseball. You could also find him spending his Sundays watching NASCAR, which he admired dearly, his family said. Other hobbies and interests included jet skiing, camping, fishing, making people smile and touching many hearts. Survivors include the love of his life, Brenda Tibbetts; brothers, Norman Price of Wayne, Mich., and John Price of Baker City; sister, Cathy Robbs of Boise; sons, Raymond Price of Boise and Kyle Price of Portland; granddaughter, Sophia Price; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raymond F. Price Donation Fund through Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center, 1502 Seventh St., in La Grande. |
