Myrtle Whitakker, Jill Ruymann Myrtle Whittaker Myrtle Thelma Whittaker, 87, of Robertson, Wyo., a former Baker County resident, died Sept. 8, 2010, at her home. There was a graveside service to celebrate Myrtle’s life on Sept. 11, at the Fort Bridger Cemetery in Fort Bridger, Wyo. The Rev. Dave Pepper officiated. Myrtle was born on July 23, 1923, at Robinette to Ralph Lafayette and Gladys Effie Garret Byrne. She married Bern Lloyd Whittaker, on Dec.15, 1941, at Weiser, Idaho. Myrtle was a charter member of the Willowcreek Homemaker’s Club, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain View, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed quilting, and visiting with friends, and her family. Survivors include her son, Wesley and his wife, Judith, of Robertson, Wyo.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Byrne and his wife, Roberta, of Caldwell, Idaho; a brother, Ralph Byrne and a sister, Betty Meyers and her husband, Carl, of Baker City; a sister, Bonnie Dunn and her husband, DeLaine, of Union; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, and two sisters. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Uinta Hospice Program or the American Cancer Society.
Jill Ruymann, 63, died Sept. 14, 2010, at Centralia, Wash., after losing her battle with diabetes. She was born on May 8, 1947 at London, Ontario, Canada. Her family said that although she had an enduring fight with diabetes, she never lost her sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Guenther; and her daughter, Janice. Survivors include her grandson, Logan; her mother, Jan Guenther, of San Antonio, Texas; brother, John; stepchildren, John and Pam; good friends, Karen Taylor and family, Jo Butler and family and Jack and Caroline Corning. |
