Stan Fugit Stan Fugit Stan Fugit, 82, died Sept. 8, 2010, at Baker City. His memorial service was today at at the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church in Halfway. Interment was at Pine Haven Cemetery in Halfway. Stan was born on Oct. 19, 1927, at Union. Stan fell in love with Halfway while making deliveries with his dad, Merle Fugit, when he was 5 years old. He loved Pine Valley and the good people who lived there. Stan loved practical jokes and was a prankster at heart, his family members said. Traveling, boating, fishing and hunting were always an adventure with “Dad.” Stan worked for A.T.T. for more than 30 years in California and for the Forestry Department at Halfway. He served on the Pine Eagle School Board and Pine Valley Presbyterian Church Board. He loved to travel in his R.V. and driving the back roads of Pine Valley. Stan’s family expressed appreciation for everything that was done to Stan to made his living in Pine Valley so enjoyable. “Dad loved you all,” family members said. Survivors include his sons, Fred and David; grandchildren, Kevin, Myles and Alexandra; sisters, Vicky and Jerri Lynn; nephews, Mike, and his wife, Teri, and Dennis and his wife, Becca; sister-in-law, Virginia; and numerous extended family members.
