Roger Wilson
A funeral service is planned, with arrangements pending at Coles Funeral Home. Roger was born Dec. 20, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn., to Jack and Elizabeth Wilson. Roger served in the Army during the Vietnam War and he was honorably discharged in May 1968 with a Purple Heart. He attended the University of Minnesota, where he graduated with a degree in forestry. On June 22, 1973, Roger married Mary Helen Swayne in Rapid City, S.D. Roger and Mary made their home in the Eugene area until they moved to Baker City in 2006. Roger worked for the Bureau of Land Management for 33 years in the Eugene District. Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Helen; two sons: Nathan Wilson and his wife, Sara, of Baker City, and Brad Wilson and his wife, Stephanie, of Caldwell, Idaho; a daughter, Sarah Johnson and her husband, Karlus, of Appleton, Wis., eight grandchildren; a brother, Mark, and his wife, Sue, of Apple Valley, Minn.; and a sister, Janet, of the French West Indies. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, a stepmother, Laverne, and a grandson, Joshua. Roger embraced the work of God in his life when he was a young adult. He enjoyed his Bible and spiritual fellowship. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jodi Tool and her staff at Settler’s Park for their care, and to Heart and Home Hospice for their loving support and service. |
