Obituary for March 10, 2014

Charles Reisner

Richland, 1943-2014

Charles Patrick Reisner, 70, of Richland, died Feb. 24, 2014, at Boise.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Richland Christian Church. Interment will be at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Richland. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception after the interment at the Richland Christian Church.

Charles Patrick was born on Nov. 26, 1943, at Portland to August “Augie” John and Clara Belle Imes Reisner. He was raised at Portland. Charles was a 1962 Grant High School graduate. In his teens he was a race car driver.

Charles met Janeane at a restaurant where live music was playing and Charles asked a beautiful woman with “sparkling eyes” to dance ... the rest is history. Charles and Janeane were married on Aug. 22, 1981 at Vancouver, Wash. He instantly had four teenage children: Cindy, Kerry, Kristine and Mark.

Charles was a hod carrier at Portland and Anchorage, Alaska, from 1962 until 2000, when he retired.

Charles loved woodworking, fishing, helping others, making his wife happy (which she said he did everyday without fail), loving his children and grandchildren, and traveling in his fifth-wheel trailer with Janeane and their feline friends.

Charles said after moving to Richland that he wasn’t going to move to any other place he just said “the only place I’m gonna move is down the road (meaning the cemetery), and that’s the truth.” And that he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy; and sister, Trudy.

Survivors include his wife Janeane; daughters, Cindy Crawford of Kingman, Ariz., Kerry Rodriguez of Portland, Kristine and her husband, John Case, of Ashland; son, Mark and his wife, Deb Crawford of Portland; 16 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and two on the way.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland Christian Church or the New Bridge Nazarene Church through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 543, Halfway, OR 97834.
