Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife investigators are asking for the public's help in solving the January illegal killing of a bighorn sheep in Malheur County.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible, police said. The reward is being offered by the Oregon Hunter's Association, Federation for North American Wild Sheep, Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, and other organizations. The reward is offered for information

Hunters found the carcass of a bighorn sheep ram on Jan. 20 east of the Owyhee Reservoir in the Long Creek Gulch area, according to Oregon State Police. The head had been removed. Investigators believe the sheep was killed within a couple days of its discovery.
