11-12 All-Stars advance to semis

After falling to Pendleton earlier, Baker's 11- and 12-year-old all-star team defeated Triangle Wednesday, 10-0, to advance to a semifinal game today against Harney County.

The winner of that game will play in the finals Friday.

Tyler Talbot struck out four batters and didn't give up a base hit before yielding to Ben Baxter, who struck out Triangle's final batter in a run-rule shortened game.

Mason Cline got the game going with a home run. Nathan Baeth also hit a round-tripper and added a single.

Other hitters for Baker included Casey Jaensch, with a single and an RBI; and Jake Brown and Thomas Hamilton, who each had a double and drove in a run apiece.

"After Monday's loss, the team was hungry, and that's the way I like to see them play," said Corey Baeth, one of the team's coaches.
