Area riders at pro rodeos

Several Baker City-area cowboys and cowgirls placed in their events at professional rodeos Aug. 25-26.

Jared Bain of Haines was second in bareback riding at Goldendale, Wash., with a score of 76. He won that event at Davenport, Wash., with a score of 78, first at John Day with a score of 80, and first at Waterville with a score of 72.

Kyle Dennis of Halfway placed fifth in saddle bronc at John Day with a score of 68.

Jackie Owens of Hereford placed fifth in breakaway roping at John Day with a time of 4.10.

Bill Justus of Haines was sixth in team roping header at John Day with a time of 7.70.

Sally Brown of Lacross, Wash., was second in breakaway roping at Waterville with a time of 2.8.
