Baker’s tennis teams swept Ontario Friday at Ontario.

The Baker boys won 4-1 and the Bulldog girls 3-2.

In boys play, Baker swept the three singles matches. Lukas Huggins, Ivan Hansen and Jesse Burk didn’t lose a game while sweeping in straight sets.

“That’s what I’ve been expecting all year,” said Baker boys coach George Keister.

“I know these guys are going to play strong every time.”

The boys other win came in the No. 1 doubles match where Isaac Mansuetti and Matthew Barnes won in three sets.

“Just like against La Grande Thursday they fell behind, made some good adjustments and played well after that,” Keister said.

In girls play, Baker won the third singles match and both doubles matches.

Vanessa Fregoso won the singles match in three sets.

Delaney Kee and Hollis Robb won No. 1 doubles in two sets.

Lena Bowers and Hannah Wilson lost just one game in winning the No. 2 doubles match.

“The girls played a lot better,” said Baker girls coach Amy Younger. “They’re showing more confidence.”

Baker travels to Vale Tuesday, then returns to Ontario Friday and Saturday for the Treasure Valley Community College Invitational tournament.
