Powder Valley picked up its first football win of the season Friday, stopping Union 46-26 in the non-league game at Union.

Colton Eubanks led the Badgers with 251 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

“It was a really good game, and we came out with a much needed victory,” said Powder Valley coach Dan Townsend.

“Union played very well, coming off a huge win against Pine-Eagle last week.

“We took a little while to get going offensively, but once our offensive line made some adjustmets it really opened up our running game,” Townsend said.

The Powder coach said Eubanks has run for more than 700 yards in the Badgers’ first three games.

Townsend said quarterback Chace Dixon also played well. Dixon was 5-of-15 passing for a touchdown and two interceptions.

“His completions should have been higher but we had several dropped passes,” Townsend said.

“We’re still trying to figure things out offensively with our younger receiving group, and Chace did a really nice job working with (Tyler) Robinson late in the game.”

Union opened the scoring in the first quarter before Eubanks scored on a 20-yard run to tie the game at 6-6 at the break.

Union then took a 14-6 edge before Eubanks scored on a 76-yard run to tie the game at 14-14 at halftime.

Powder Valley then broke the game open with 26 third-quarter points.

Eubanks ran the kickoff back 88 yards for the first score. He later added a 71-yard TD run.

Quin Stephens added a 2-yard TD run, and Dixon connected with Robinson for a 22-yard TD hookup.
