Baker Juniors lose two games

Baker went from feast to famine Monday and Tuesday at the District 3 Junior softball tournament at the Baker Sports Complex.

Baker scored 10 runs but lost 20-10 to Grant County Monday. Baker then managed just one run a 5-1 loss to Milton-Freewater Tuesday. The latter loss ended Baker’s season.

Grant County 20, Baker 10

Baker jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Cassidy Palmer, Elizabeth Quigley and Kayla Kirby had RBI singles.

Grant County answered with 8 runs in the bottom of the third. Hailey McConnell, Sydney Stearns, Kaylie Kell, Stephanie Croghan and Bree Snow had RBIs.

Michelle Freese had three hits and two RBIs for Baker.

McConnell and Kell each had three hits for Grant County. Kell added four RBIs.

Baker managed just three hits.

Adrienne Streeter’s RBI double and a sacrifice fly by Stefanie Copeland gave Milton-Freewater a 4-1 lead after three innings.
