Baker Little League off to 2-0 start

Baker is off to a 2-0 start after two days at the District 3 Little League Majors all-star baseball tournament at Enterprise.

Baker defeated Wallowa Valley 10-0 in four innings Saturday, then stopped Pilot Rock 16-1 in four innings Sunday.


Baker tops Wallowa Valley

Catcher Chase Dixon hit an inside-the-park home run and a single to drive in two runs against Wallowa Valley.

Steven Scott had a triple and an RBI, Keaton Bachman a double and an RBI, Kyle Srack two singles and an RBI, Clay LeaMaster two singles and two RBIs, Tanner Ulrey a double and an RBI, Thomas Hamilton a triple, two singles and an RBI, Colton Smith a double, and Jake Harris a double.

Harris was the winning pitcher.


Baker defeats Pilot Rock

Hamilton led the way against Pilot Rock with a home run, double and four RBIs.

Srack added a homer, triple and two RBIs, Austin Folkman two doubles, a single and two RBIs, Schott three singles and two RBIs, LeaMaster a single, Micah Mespelt a double and an RBI, Bachman a single, Taylor Gulick a single and two RBIs, Harris a single, and Ulrey a double.

Hamilton was the winning pitcher.

Baker played Harney County today at 11:30 a.m. Baker then has a bye Tuesday before playing La Grande at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the final round of pool play.

Semi-final action is slated Thursday at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 2 p.m. Friday.
