Baker gets eight firsts at home track finale

Baker closed out its regular-season track and field campaign Friday by earning eight firsts at the Baker Invitational meet.

Nic Maszk and Jorden Osborn were double winners.

Maszk won the 800 with a time of 2:06.20 and the 1,500 with a 4:28.74 clocking.

Osborn won the discus with a toss of 150 feet, 1 inch, and the shot with a throw of 45 feet, 8.25 inches.

Four Baker girls also placed first in their events.

Kyana Chaves won the shot with a toss of 33 feet, 4 inches. Monica Voboril won the javelin with a throw of 113 feet, 10 inches. Rachel Streifel won the pole vault with a vault of 8 feet, 6 inches. Liz Wulk took the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 9.5 inches.

Next up for the Bulldogs is the Greater Oregon League district meet Friday and Saturday at La Grande. Competition begins at 3 p.m. Friday.
