Baker girls fifth at home invitational

Baker finished a disappointing fifth at the Baker Girls Invitational golf tournament Wednesday at Quail Ridge Golf Course.

The Bulldogs finished with a score of 410 in the 10-team tournament. Baker’s junior varsity squad finished eighth at 490. Rocky Mountain High School of Meridian, Idaho, won the team title with a score of 383.

“We were pretty disappointed,” said Baker coach Scott Warner. “Nothing was clicking today. We needed to be a little better at our own invitational. Now we’ve got 10 days to work on our game before district.”

Baker does not play again before the district tournament.

Wednesday, Hallie Borgen led the Bulldogs with a score of 96. Kindra Smith shot 101, Tayler Wood 105, Maggie Harlow 108 and Mackenzie Warner 109.

Emily Smith topped the Baker JV with 111. Morgan Ward shot 112, Dallas Defrees 131, Aly Ogan 136, and Erin Burgess 143.

Ontario’s Scotty Jo Helmick was medalist with 81.
