Baker girls second at Union golf tourney

Baker had a solid afternoon at a girls golf tournament at Buffalo Peak Golf Course in Union Friday.

The Bulldogs finished second in the tournament behind Ontario. Baker shot a score of 368, Ontario 357.

“It was a pretty good day for us,” said Baker coach Scott Warner. “Keeping four girls in double digits, that’s our goal.”

Tayler Wood led the Bulldogs with a fourth-place individual finish, shooting an 86.

Kindra Smith shot 89, Hallie Borgen 94, Mackenzie Warner 99 and Morgan Ward 106.

Warner was pleased that the Bulldogs were closer to Ontario, a district foe.

“We’re still looking up at Ontario, but we’re inching closer every time,” he said.

The Baker boys competed in a tournament at the La Grande Country Club Friday. The Bulldogs finished third with a score of 372. Mac-Hi was first with 352. Baker’s individual results will be published when available.

Baker will host a junior varsity boys and girls tournament today at 3:30 p.m. at Quail Ridge Golf Course.
