Baker girls win finale

MILTON-FREEWATER —Baker ended its Greater Oregon League girls basketball season Friday with a 59-30 victory over Mac-Hi.

“All the girls played really well,” said Baker coach Jenny Mowe Joseph.

“Mac-Hi is always a tough place to play but they came out strong which allowed some of my younger girls to play during the third and fourth quarters.”

Michelle Birkmaier led Baker with 16 points and two rebounds.

Brie Sand added 13 points, three steals, two blocks and two assists. Michelle Freese had 11 points, three steals and an assist.

Abi Smith added seven points, Summer Phillips five points and five rebounds, Ally Brown two points, Michelle Lehman two points, Emily Tatlock two points and three rebounds, Erin Bachman two points and Whitney Lemmon three rebounds and two steals.

Baker finished its season 3-6 in the GOL and 4-16 overall.
