Baker sends small group to state swimming meet

Baker will send two individuals and a relay team to the Class 4A/3A/2A/1A state swim meet Friday and Saturday at the Mount Hood Community College Aquatic Center in Gresham.

Annie Martin advances to state in the 200 IM and 500 freestyle, and Kim Pointer in the 100 breaststroke.

Martin placed third in both events at the district meet last weekend at La Grande. Martin had a time of 2:29.66 in the 200 IM, and 6:02.36 in the 500 freestyle.

Pointer placed third in the 100 breaststroke at district with a 1:21.62 clocking.

That duo, along with Tonita Britt, Courtney Raley, Raven Shipsey, Marissa Ermovick, Aryel Fahrney and Jasmine Fillebrown, advanced in the 200 freestyle relay. Baker finished second at district with a time of 1:53.45.

Tickets are $8 adults and $5 students each session.
