Baker shuts out Mac-Hi

MILTON-FREEWATER —‑Dallas Defrees and Robbie Langrell combined for all of Baker’s goals Saturday in a 5-0 Special District 7 girls soccer win at Mac-Hi.

Defrees scored a three-goal “hat trick,” and Langrell added a pair of goals as Baker ran its season record to 5-0-1 and league mark to 2-0.

“The girls looked great,” said Baker coach DeeDee Clarke.

“We had to move some people around, but the girls came right out and completely controlled the game.”

Langrell scored her first goal just two minutes into the match. She followed that goal with her second later in the first half off a feed from Defrees.

Defrees then tallied three straight goals to put the game away.

“The girls were passing nice, setting it up and swinging the ball well,” Clarke said.

Baker keeper Kristen Hoopes had to make just one save, and wasn’t seriously challenged during the afternoon.

Baker also won the junior varsity contest 2-0. Katie Tamura and Audrey Kirby scored Baker’s goals.

Baker returns to action Thursday when the Bulldogs host La Grande at the Baker Sports Complex.
