Baker tennis takes three of four

Baker’s tennis teams won three of four matches against Ontario and Nyssa Friday and Saturday.

Friday, at Ontario, the boys defeated the Tigers 4-1 but the girls lost 3-2.

Saturday, at the Ash Grove Complex, Baker stopped the Nyssa boys 3-1 and the girls 4-1.

At Ontario, Ivan Hansen and JJ Vela won their singles matches in straight sets.

Baker doubles Jordan Curtis and Lukas Huggins and Brandon Zunino and Cooper Brooks swept their Ontario opponents, losing just one game each.

“Our guys played pretty well,” said Baker boys coach George Keister.

Kate Sizer won the No. 1 singles against Ontario.

Jessica McKim and Delaney Key won the No. 2 doubles.

Against Nyssa, Zunino and Jesse Burk won their singles matches as did doubles Chance Parry and Vela.

Sizer, Makayla Williams and doubles Emily Miller and Devon Galiszewski and Key and McKim also defeated Nyssa.

Baker hosts Vale Tuesday afternoon.
