Baker thinclads at Vale

VALE — Baker track and field athletes earned two first-place awards Friday at the Oregon Trail Invitational at Vale High School.

Nic Maszk won th eboys 3,000 in a time of 9:51.01, and Jorden Osborn won the boys discus with a toss of 125 feet, 6 inches.

Baker finished sixth in the boys team standings and eighth in the girls standings.

Other top Baker boys finishers were Mitko Smith and Ben Frix third and fifth in the 100, Frix fourth in the 200, Roberto Kitch third in the 400, Osborn fourth in the shot, Jake Skillings and Colton Dillman third and fourth in the javelin, and Skillings fourth in the triple jump.

Top Baker girls finishers were Michele Birkmaier second in the 400, Tonita Britt fifth in the 200, Kylie Curtis third in the discus and fifth in the shot, Ashley Trees third in the javelin and KrisAnn Freels third in the long jump.

The Bulldogs will host the Baker Relays Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the BHS track.
