Baker track sweeps invitational

Baker swept the boys and girls team championships at the Baker Invitational track and field meet Friday at BHS.

Baker topped La Grande by 10 points to win the boys half of the meet. The Bulldogs ran away with the girls side of the meet.

The Bulldogs earned eight first-place finishes in the four-team meet.

The boys 4x100 relay team of Luke Austin, Rowdy LaMiller, B.J. Quintana and Walker Kaseberg earned one first.

Robert Gardner won the javelin and Kaseberg the high jump for the other boys firsts.

Hannah Prince won the girls 200, Whitney Phillips the 800, Melissa Clarke in the 1,500 and Haley Adams the javelin and pole vault.

Baker now travels to Ontario Friday and Saturday for the Greater Oregon League district meet.
